The Euskal Artzain Txakurra (Basque Shepherd) It is a breed of dog originating in the autonomous community of the Basque country, traditionally used as dog pastor and care of livestock. There are two varieties, the Gorbeiakoa and the Iletsua.
The breed was officially recognized by the Royal Canine society of Spain the 1 in June of 1995. The official name of the breed is not "Pastor Vasco", as it is known mostly, but "Euskal Artzain Txakurra".
