History

The breed of dog Tatra Shepherd, It originated in the region of Podhale, in the area of the Tatra mountains of Poland, that's whay the origin of it´s name .

Physical characteristics

The Pastor of Tatras, is a dog from large size, is very similar to the Newfoundland but completely white.

In the mountainous regions of Poland, where usually lived this as precious dog, Pastors used to put a necklace of iron or with nails to protect it from the wolves.
